The sixth-generation Ford Mustang arrived at late 2013 for your 2015 model year as the company's innovative pony car yet. Not only redesigned in and out, the newest Mustang also gained an impartial rear suspension, a primary for that muscle car since its inception in 1964. The new generation also marked the return with the four-cylinder 'Stang, with Ford adding a turbocharged, 2.3-liter EcoBoost towards the usual V-6 and V-8 engine lineup. In early 2017, the sixth-generation Mustang received its mid-cycle update.
The most significant upgrade for your 2018 Mustang is MagneRide magnetorheological adaptive dampers, available on both the EcoBoost and GT Performance Packs. Previously, the only Mustang to offer magnetically-controlled active dampers was the top-of-the-line Shelby GT350. Given the wonders that magnetic dampers work in other high-performance settings (we're looking at you, Corvette and Camaro), they should bring big handling improvements to the 2018 Mustang. Starting in 2018, the Performance Package will likely be entirely on automatic and/or convertible Mustangs, a big change in the previous manual-and-hardtop-only requirements.
Although it seems too soon to discuss a mid-cycle refresh, it can be being reported how the American automaker can give the Mustang a facelift for that 2018 model year, plus a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Rumor has it that Ford will also introduce a Mach 1 edition around the same time since the facelift. Expect the next-generation Mustang being introduced in 2019 or 2020.
Ford Motor Business is out evaluating the following action in efficiency for your sixth-generation Mustang. The brand-new design will fill deep space left through the previous generation's Shelby GT500 and may also pass the exact same name, though we have actually likewise heard a revival from the Mach 1 name is possible.
Under the skin, Ford has upgraded the shock absorbers, claiming a vast improvement in ride quality, and it has also fitted a new cross-axis jount and tweaked the stabiliser bars. All of these, Ford claims, improve handling. Buyers who select the Mustang Performance Package can make use of Ford's Magneride adaptive dampers, too. Exhaust note may be improved by adding the active valve exhaust option, too.
Performance Package Mustangs will see an available magnetorheological adaptive damping system that was only available on the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT 250R, so 'Stang fans, you have a lot to look forward to.
The 2018 Ford Mustang, along with the Ford F-150, will have a new pedestrian detection system added that includes night-vision capability (a first ever!).

It's grown very quiet on the halo Mustang news front but new photos have surfaced which show a very interesting feature not seen on previous Mustangs.
With performance at it's core, the new Ford Mustang offers up a full spectrum of Ford driver-assist technology such as Per-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection, distance alert, lane-departure warning, and a Driver Alert System, while a new ManageRide damper technology aims to improve handling in all situations as part of the Mustang Performance Package.

The 2018 model year Ford Mustang GT gets revised face, sporting a new angular front bumper with a new chin spoiler and a slimmer lower air intake, flanked by two new triangular air intakes.
In terms of engines Ford will continue to offer the Mustang GT with two power units in the UK - the 5.0-litre V8 in the GT and the 2.3-litre four-cylinder Ecoboost in the entry level model.
For 2018, the Mustang GT's 5.0-liter V8 gets both both port and direct fuel injection, similar to the fuel system found in the 3.5-liter V6 in the new F-150 Raptor This dual-injection system allows Ford to increase the V8's compression ratio from 11.0:1 to 12.0:1, which should aid power and fuel efficiency.
As you'd expect, you can pair either engine with a six-speed manual transmission (which gets a twin-disc clutch and a new dual-mass flywheel on V8 models), but a new option for 2018 is Ford's 10-speed automatic Co-developed with GM, this transmission promises much quicker shifting, and can handle more torque than the outgoing six-speed auto.
We won't have the chance to drive the updated Mustang for another few months, but a Ford engineer told us that the GT Performance Pack with MagneRide is better than the beloved 2012-2013 Mustang Boss 302 So consider our expectations high.

Now history is poised to repeat itself with the introduction of the 2018 Ford Mustang, which drops the current car's naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V-6 and leaves Ford's updated pony car with only two engine choices: a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote V-8.
The Mustang evolution benefits from enhancements from higher-order Mustangs, like the Shelby GT350 A trickle-down theory toward parts means that MagneRide will be available for the first time on non-Shelby Mustangs, as will an Active Loud Exhaust with a Quiet mode for creeping into the driveway after a long evening drive.

""This power increase was achieved with the first application for Mustang of Ford's new dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection and low-pressure port fuel injection on a V8 engine - delivering robust low-end torque, high-rpm power, and improved fuel efficiency."" While some are saying the new front-end design makes the Mustang looks ""sad,"" Ford touts the new design as more athletic than previous additions with a lower hood and grille that not only gives the car a leaner feel but ""refined aerodynamics."" Ford Motor Company introduced the 2018 Mustang with the news that the base V6 had been removed from the lineup and today, we take a look at the pros and cons of the naturally aspirated V6 no longer serving as the base model Mustang engine.
The 2017 Ford Mustang (not including the Shelby GT350) is offered with three engine options - the naturally aspirated 3.7L V6, the turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder and the naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 in the Mustang GT.
When Ford introduced the facelifted 2018 Mustang, the company announced that the 2.3L EcoBoost will be the base model engine for the new model year and the 5.0L V8 will still be the powerplant for the Mustang GT (shown above), but the 3.7L V6 will no longer be offered.
In my opinion, replacing the naturally aspirated V6 with the EcoBoost 4-cylinder only makes the Mustang better, and today we bring you a look at the pros and cons of the 4-cylinder replacing the 6-cylinder in the base model Ford Mustang.
If you remove the bigger wheels and fancier seats, the price difference between the V6 and EcoBoost fastback Mustang might be narrower than $1,010, but the odds are good that the new 2018 Ford Mustang in base form will cost a little more than the 2017 V6 Mustang fastback.
And as it turns out, those are new taillights on the 2018 Ford Mustang The side-by-side footage reveals the new brake lamps are more textured and three-dimensional than the outgoing units.

Ford has pulled the covers off a new 2018 Ford Mustang GT.
This could technically increase the Ford Mustang base MSRP, since the V6 is the standard engine in the least expensive current Mustang, but the price difference between the V6 and the EcoBoost is negligible when you consider how much better the EcoBoost engine is than the V6.
Next, the dealership employee found that the 2018 Ford Mustang will seemingly be offered with the 10-speed automatic in both EcoBoost and GT trim - so both the turbocharged 2.3L 4-cylinder and the 5.0L V8 could benefit from this new gearbox.
