Design highlights: front end

The BMW X2 has a poised on-road stance thanks to large wheels and a striking wheel rim design. The C-pillars host two characteristic BMW features: the hallmark BMW Hofmeister kink and, for the first time on a BMW X model, the BMW roundel. The rear spoiler provides a dynamic flourish to round off the BMW X2's roofline. The standard rear spoiler can be replaced on the M Sport und M Sport X models with the even sportier M rear spoiler from the options list.

The horizontal design lines of the BMW X2's rear end tighten the visual distance between the car and the road, emphasising the car's width and therefore its sporty character. The LED rear lights represent a symbiosis of the T-shape lighting contour shared by other BMW X models and the L shape familiar from BMW coupes. The latter's design will vary depending on the car's specification. On the standard car, it comes in the vehicle colour and matt black. It's been almost a year since BMW took the wraps off the BMW X2 Concept at last year's Detroit auto show. On January 15, 2018, BMW will hold a press conference in the Cobo Center in Detroit to unveil the all-new X2 Sports Activity Coupe, the svelter sibling of the BMW X1 Sports Activity Vehicle.
In addition to the two i8s, BMW will have the i3, i3s, and the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept. The BMW i3s is a new, sportier, and more powerful i3. The concept that previews the upcoming BMW X7 Sports Activity Vehicle is a plug-in hybrid. BMW is making a statement with the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept to emphasize that while it will continue to build big sports activity vehicles, they can also be at least a little green. While the North American International Auto Show will be a big deal for BMW i, BMW M will have a few things to show off. Fortunately for those BMW M5 owners with an unlimited budget for tires, the M xDrive can be switched to rear-wheel drive only. It links to an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The 2019 BMW i8 Coupe brings a few changes. BMW estimates average fuel consumption to be the equivalent of 70 mpg or thereabouts. BMW's iDrive infotainment displays through a standard 6.5-inch screen that's upgradeable to a 6.5-inch touchscreen or a hefty 8.8-inch display. Synthetic leather upholstery is standard and BMW will offer real leather in five shades as an option. Under the X2's hood sits BMW's 2.0-liter turbo-4 rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The X2 joins the X4 (coupe cousin of the X3 SUV) and X6 (X5's coupe doppelganger) in BMW's lineup. Another SUV relative due to make production soon is the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept, a hybrid, full-sized SUV that will instantly become the flagship of BMW's SUV lineup. BMW surpassed Lexus in US SUV sales last year and is chasing Mercedes for top honors.
2018 is the year of X, BMW Group CFO Nicholas Peter said.
The rest of the performance brand's sedan, sports car, and SUV lineup features RWD-based drivetrains with longitudinal engines. The X2 chassis is shared with BMW-stablemate Mini Cooper.

The first-ever BMW X2 has a distinctive exterior design that combines the fast-moving body language and low-slung proportions of a coupe with the robust construction of a BMW X model, BMW said in a statement.
The BMW X2 represents an expression of modern and extrovert vehicle dynamics, Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design.
Three different style version of the car will be available to but - Basic, M Sport and M Sport X.

Powering the car is a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 228 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
BMW claims the car will achieve 61.4mpg and that the car emits 121g/km of CO2.
Prices start from £33,980 OTR for a BMW X2 xDrive20d SE and the car available to order from mid-November.

The BMW X2 M Sport X combines design elements from BMW M and the BMW X family.
Above all, it is the BMW X2's proportions which create its expressive, dynamic demeanour. The BMW X2 fuses the fast-moving forms of a coupe with the robust volumes of an X model, sums up Thomas Sycha, Head of Design BMW Compact Class. A distinctive character that departs from the BMW script
Reminiscent of legendary BMW models such as the 2000 CS and 3.0 CSL, this is another element that underscores the sporting aspirations of the BMW X2.
Design highlights: front end
The kidney grille has always been an identifying feature of a BMW. The kidney grille provides a visual expression of the BMW X2's classy appeal. The design of the BMW X2's headlights reinforces its striking, sporty looks. Full-LED headlights are available as an option for the BMW X2. Wheels
The BMW X2 has a poised on-road stance thanks to large wheels and a striking wheel rim design. The M Sport and M Sport X models are available with wheels in sizes up to 20 inches - a standout feature in this vehicle segment. As standard, both models are available with 19-inch wheels. The standard rims for the BMW X2 are 17-inch style 560 items, but ten other rim designs (including the M wheels for the BMW X2 M Sport and M Sport X) can be specified as an option.

The C-pillars host two characteristic BMW features: the hallmark BMW Hofmeister kink and, for the first time on a BMW X model, the BMW roundel. The BMW roundel on the C-pillars invokes a design cue much admired on classic BMW coupes such as the 2000 CS and 3.0 CSL, and ensures the car is instantly recognisable on the road.
Design highlights: rear end
The rear spoiler provides a dynamic flourish to round off the BMW X2's roofline. The standard rear spoiler can be replaced on the M Sport und M Sport X models with the even sportier M rear spoiler from the options list.
Rear lights
The horizontal design lines of the BMW X2's rear end tighten the visual distance between the car and the road, emphasising the car's width and therefore its sporty character. The LED rear lights represent a symbiosis of the T-shape lighting contour shared by other BMW X models and the L shape familiar from BMW coupes. The BMW X2 is therefore clearly recognisable, even in the dark.
Rear bumper
The latter's design will vary depending on the car's specification. On the standard car, it comes in the vehicle colour and matt black. The BMW X2 M Sport features a diffuser-look cladding inlay in Dark Shadow metallic. The BMW X2 M Sport X, meanwhile, gets a bespoke diffusor insert in the contrast colour Frozen Grey. The all-new BMW X2 is the latest addition to the BMW X family. The first-ever BMW X2 has a distinctive exterior design that combines the fast-moving body language and low-slung proportions of a coupe with the robust construction of a BMW X model.
The cutting-edge 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine together with the 8-speed automatic transmission propel this emotional sports activity coupe from 0-60 mph in just 6.3 seconds, yielding 228 hp and a peak torque of 258 lb-ft.
The 2019 BMW i8 Coupe also makes its world debut at the North American International Auto Show. It's been almost a year since BMW took the wraps off the BMW X2 Concept at last year's Detroit auto show. On January 15, 2018, BMW will hold a press conference in the Cobo Center in Detroit to unveil the all-new X2 Sports Activity Coupe, the svelter sibling of the BMW X1 Sports Activity Vehicle.
In addition to the two i8s, BMW will have the i3, i3s, and the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept. The BMW i3s is a new, sportier, and more powerful i3. The concept that previews the upcoming BMW X7 Sports Activity Vehicle is a plug-in hybrid. BMW is making a statement with the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept to emphasize that while it will continue to build big sports activity vehicles, they can also be at least a little green. While the North American International Auto Show will be a big deal for BMW i, BMW M will have a few things to show off. Fortunately for those BMW M5 owners with an unlimited budget for tires, the M xDrive can be switched to rear-wheel drive only. BMW M will also bring the first-ever BMW M3 CS that was introduced to the world last month at the Los Angeles show. BMW will tell us the price as May approaches.

It comes with 19-inch wheels as standard, but a 20-inch option is also available. At the moment, however, BMW hasn't said anything about pricing.

This 5-seat crossover is slotted between the subcompact BMW X1 and compact BMW X3 in the German auto maker's lineup.
In addition to a coupe-like roofline, the X2 debuts a new version of BMW's kidney shaped grille and the iconic BMW roundel is attached to the SUV's C-pillar, a first for an X model. The rear features a wide bumper, rear spoiler and sporty twin tailpipes.

This new model is essentially the coupe/hatchback version of the existing X1 , until now BMW's smallest entry in the segment. Rear legroom offered in the X1 and X2 is nearly identical at 37 inches (X1) versus 36.7 inches (X2), BMW says. The X2 joins the X4 (coupe cousin of the X3 SUV) and X6 (X5's coupe doppelganger) in BMW's lineup. Another SUV relative due to make production soon is the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept, a hybrid, full-sized SUV that will instantly become the flagship of BMW's SUV lineup. BMW surpassed Lexus in US SUV sales last year and is chasing Mercedes for top honors.
2018 is the year of X, BMW Group CFO Nicholas Peter said.

Three different style version of the car will be available to but - Basic, M Sport and M Sport X.

2019 BMW i8 Coupe and X2 Will Debut at North American International Auto Show
BMW has revealed its plans for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, where it will debut the 2019 i8 and brand new X2 The cars will be revealed alongside multiple electric BMW models in January.
BMW says the new model does zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds and will top out at 155 mph. BMW

Today at the Detroit auto show, BMW revealed the production version of the X2, giving us the first look at the crossover inside and out. BMW presents the X2 as the edgier, more fashion-forward version of the X1. The xDrive moniker is BMW-speak for all-wheel drive, and the only transmission option will be an eight-speed automatic.

The X2 is based of the current BMW X1 , meaning it rides on a front-wheel drive based platform. The 2019 BMW i8 is simply a refreshed version of the car that went on sale in 2014. In addition to the i8, BMW will have the i3s , the BMW X7 iPerformance Concept, the M3 CS, the M5 and X3 all on display.

At launch time in March 2018, powering the BMW X2 will be the typical suite of small four-cylinder engines, both petrol and diesel.
So there will be a BMW X2 xDrive18i, xDrive20i, xDrive28i, xDrive20d and xDrive25d. The BMW X2 xDrive28i with 228 horsepower will be available in the US in Spring 2018.

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The BMW X2 will make its world debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Additionally, the 2019 BMW i8 Coupe will make its world debut at the show and will be featured alongside a number of electrified BMW vehicles.
The BMW X2 is the latest addition to the BMW X family, with a distinctive exterior design that combines the proportions of a coupe with the construction of a BMW X model. The cutting-edge 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine together with the 8-speed automatic transmission propel this emotional sports activity coupe from 0-60 mph in just 6.3 seconds, the company said in a release.
The 2019 BMW i8 Coupe has increased power and range over its predecessor and has been the world's best-selling hybrid sports car since 2014, according to the release.
Also showcased will be the BMW i8 Roadster, which made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2017.
Additional featured vehicles include the BMW i3s, X7 iPerformance Concept, M3 CS, M5 and X3.
