With a perfectly proportioned and balanced body, there's no doubt that the 2016 Aston Martin Rapide S is a beautiful car.
The Interior
Opening the door and peering inside, the Rapide S' seating is striking. The recessed, low seats are more akin to what you'd find on a track car. The front cabin of the Rapide S proves to be really comfortable, and though the car does boast four-seats, the back would be best suited to children or short trips for adults. The car's interior looks as premium as the exterior. The 2016 Aston Martin Rapide S comes equipped with brand's AMi III infotainment system on a 6.5″ LCD screen.

It's almost impossible to not be impressed by the Aston Martin Rapide S. It's the Aston Martin Rapide, and for 2014 it's gotten a new letter - the letter S. Is the Rapide S a thoroughly modern luxury four-door GT, or just the same, old crumpets?
We could speculate why sales of the Rapide haven't met Aston's expectations - compromised interior usability, intense competition from cheaper offerings.
Surely, the Rapide, Aston Martin's four-door, four-seat GT, should have a wider following.
The Rapide S's monumental grille appears far more dominant without a bumper splitting it in two, as it was on the previous Rapide.

The Aston Martin Rapide S lives up to its name, and goes as fast as it looks. Its 6.0-litre V12 engine has been boosted to 550bhp (552bhp for refreshed cars after late-2014) in Rapide S guise, which is enough to power the RapideS from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and to a top speed of 190mph.
Not a Rapide S strong point, it's fair to say. Drive the Aston Martin as its maker intended, and you can expect to see single-figure fuel consumption from the thirsty V12 engine. Interior, design and technology
Nothing stops traffic like an Aston Martin Rapide S. The back seats of the Rapide have more in common with a supermini, but the Aston compares well with most 2+2 coupes, and the exquisitely tailored rear seats fold forwards to improve luggage space if you go mad in the Harrods sale. Rapide S grace—and grunt
The 2017 Aston Martin Rapide S stays relatively unchanged for this year, and that's a good thing. Unlike the Panamera, which eschews aesthetics for a massive rear seat, the Rapide S remains svelte and sleek, but at the expense of rear passenger space, especially upon entry through the narrow doors. With a taller driver or passenger up front, the rear seat is best reserved for children. Big 15.7-inch iron rotors up front arrest the Aston's prolific forward motion, and a near-perfect weight distribution (51/49 percent, front-to-back) helps the Rapide S stay poised from corner to corner.
Planted in the front rows of the Rapide S is a fine place to be. The interior is awash in leather and high-quality materials, befitting a car that starts north of $209,000.
Unlike the outgoing DB9, the switches and buttons in the Rapide are bespoke for the car, even if they're a little plain. New for 2017, Aston Martin made 20-inch wheels standard on the Rapide S and included its updated AMi II infotainment system with Apple CarPlay as standard too. It's a reminder that the Rapide S was developed shortly before Aston Martin's partnership with Mercedes-Benz and before that automaker's infotainment system was available for Aston Martin to use.
The Rapide S comes with the standard complement of dual-stage airbags up front, side airbags for driver and passenger, and stability and traction control systems.

With a perfectly proportioned and balanced body, there's no doubt that the 2016 Aston Martin Rapide S is a beautiful car.
The Interior
Opening the door and peering inside, the Rapide S' seating is striking. The recessed, low seats are more akin to what you'd find on a track car. The front cabin of the Rapide S proves to be really comfortable, and though the car does boast four-seats, the back would be best suited to children or short trips for adults. The car's interior looks as premium as the exterior. The 2016 Aston Martin Rapide S comes equipped with brand's AMi III infotainment system on a 6.5″ LCD screen.

The car now boasts Aston Martin's most advanced engine yet. The 2016 Rapide S has a top speed of 327km/h, a significant increase from the last model's 306km/h. It's almost impossible to not be impressed by the Aston Martin Rapide S. It's the Aston Martin Rapide, and for 2014 it's gotten a new letter - the letter S. Is the Rapide S a thoroughly modern luxury four-door GT, or just the same, old crumpets?
We could speculate why sales of the Rapide haven't met Aston's expectations - compromised interior usability, intense competition from cheaper offerings.
Surely, the Rapide, Aston Martin's four-door, four-seat GT, should have a wider following.
The Rapide S's monumental grille appears far more dominant without a bumper splitting it in two, as it was on the previous Rapide.

The Aston Martin Rapide S lives up to its name, and goes as fast as it looks. Its 6.0-litre V12 engine has been boosted to 550bhp (552bhp for refreshed cars after late-2014) in Rapide S guise, which is enough to power the RapideS from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and to a top speed of 190mph.
Not a Rapide S strong point, it's fair to say. Drive the Aston Martin as its maker intended, and you can expect to see single-figure fuel consumption from the thirsty V12 engine. Interior, design and technology
Nothing stops traffic like an Aston Martin Rapide S. Rapide S grace—and grunt
The 2017 Aston Martin Rapide S stays relatively unchanged for this year, and that's a good thing. Unlike the Panamera, which eschews aesthetics for a massive rear seat, the Rapide S remains svelte and sleek, but at the expense of rear passenger space, especially upon entry through the narrow doors. With a taller driver or passenger up front, the rear seat is best reserved for children. Big 15.7-inch iron rotors up front arrest the Aston's prolific forward motion, and a near-perfect weight distribution (51/49 percent, front-to-back) helps the Rapide S stay poised from corner to corner.
Planted in the front rows of the Rapide S is a fine place to be. The interior is awash in leather and high-quality materials, befitting a car that starts north of $209,000.
Unlike the outgoing DB9, the switches and buttons in the Rapide are bespoke for the car, even if they're a little plain. New for 2017, Aston Martin made 20-inch wheels standard on the Rapide S and included its updated AMi II infotainment system with Apple CarPlay as standard too. It's a reminder that the Rapide S was developed shortly before Aston Martin's partnership with Mercedes-Benz and before that automaker's infotainment system was available for Aston Martin to use.
The Rapide S comes with the standard complement of dual-stage airbags up front, side airbags for driver and passenger, and stability and traction control systems.
