2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom
Introduced in 2003, the seventh-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom was a comeback car for the English brand , which had been recently acquired by BMW. Rolls-Royce calls this alloy spaceframe the Architecture of Luxury, and it's set to underpin all of the company's future models.
Rolls-Royce notes that this architecture is lighter and stiffer than before, but don't think the Phantom is a lightweight now. Both the short- and extended-wheelbase Phantoms weigh nearly 6000 lbs. A full 286 of those pounds is just sound deadening, which Rolls-Royce says helps make the Phantom the quietest car in the world. Rolls-Royce
Inside the Phantom is as spectacular as you'd expect it to be-after all, this is Rolls-Royce's flagship model. Rolls-Royce says the interior is designed to embrace its occupants with the nicest leather, wood, and metal available. Rolls-Royce

The extended wheelbase car is $1.1 million. The outgoing Phantom was $855,000 in standard wheelbase form, or $990,000 as EWB. Rolls-Royce has added turbocharging to its Phantom for the first time, but missed the memo about reducing the capacity.
The Phantom's V12 remain at 6.75 litres, a traditional Rolls capacity, though it is not quite the same engine as before. The naturally aspirated predecessor had a unique block, this time around the Rolls-Royce Ghost's more modern BMW-derived 6.6-litre engine has been restroked and otherwise modified and pressed into Phantom service.
Phantom 8 will never be mistaken for a sports car but is a much more enjoyable machine from the driver's seat, despite the ride being softer again. The rear steering angles the wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels to 3 degrees maximum for parking and low speed manoeuvrability.
Rolls-Royce Officially Reveals Its Phenomenal New Phantom VIII
The latest addition to the car industry's longest-running model name is a benchmark for the brand.
Hardly new, Rolls-Royce's Phantom is the oldest model name in automotive history; the first car under that moniker was made in 1925. It's not every year that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars sends a new model down the runway, and the last new Phantom was released in 2003. Called the Phantom VII, that car replaced the VI version-introduced 35 years earlier! Rolls-Royce has always ensured that the analogue clock is the loudest sound one can hear inside the cabin, and according to its engineers, the Phantom VIII is the most silent motor car in the world. For Rolls-Royce, there is no other way.

No carmaker does bespoke like Rolls-Royce, whose designers will consult with customers to create a Phantom VIII unlike any other. The Phantom VIII comes stateside in spring 2018, and will be priced from about $450,000.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is an icon and its sad to see that BMW is having perhaps a bit too much influence over it, we're not wanting to see the Phantom as a 9-Series or a 11-Series (assuming Ghost is 9), we want to see Rolls-Royce do their own thing. I believe the Phantom V was the most British Rolls-Royce, yet. I loved what BMW did with the Phantom VII.. Re: 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom images leaked

Rolls-Royce reveals Phantom VIII
Rolls-Royce has revealed the Phantom VIII in London. According to Rolls-Royce, the new architecture is 30 percent more rigid than that of the Phantom VII.
The Phantom VIII carries forward the car's traditional design. Apart from minor tweaks, its profile is comparable to the outgoing Phantom. The car retains its long hood, strong shoulder line that drops off at the rear and suicide doors. The car also gets a new 7x3 head-up display. Rear seat passengers can use aircraft-style tray tables, screens behind the front seats, drink cabinets with glassware and reclining seats. The new Phantom is powered by a 6.75-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 563 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 900 @ 1,800 rpm. The car comes with a new double-wishbone front suspension at the front and a five-link setup with air-suspension at the rear.
