First Look: 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe
Revealed Tuesday at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is a stunning interpretation of what sedan performance can and should look like.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door comes in three variants: the AMG GT 53, 63, and 63 S.
The AMG GT 4-Door might be beautiful enough just to buy and hope it includes an engine, or maybe pedals. Wheel choices are limited to 19-inch 10-spoke disc wheels on the GT 53 and 63, with 20-inch alloy wheels standard on the GT 63 S.
Inside, all AMG GT 4-Door models feature the best of what Mercedes-Benz offers. The AMG GT 63 S peels the asphalt at 630 horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. of torque.
The GT 53 also comes with an AMG-enhanced 9-speed automatic transmission, and all versions get 4Matic+ all-wheel drive. The AMG GT 63 models kick up the power with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
The AMG GT 63 models also feature electronically-controlled locking rear differential, a rear-wheel drive drift mode, cylinder deactivation, and anti-friction bearings in the turbine wheels. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and 63 S go on sale early in 2019, with the GT 53 following later in the year.

Today at the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the latest in its AMG line , the AMG GT 4-Door Coupeand yes, that's the full actual name. The Mercedes-AMG GT Coup shown here has four doors and seating for four.
Mercedes executives say the coupe draws inspiration from the SLS and AMG GT models, two sports cars with excellent reputations in the coupe tradition. The Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe comes in six- or eight-cylinder engine variants.

In both GT63 cars, the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system features an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential; a selectable Drift Mode, in which torque is directed solely to the rear wheels, is standard on the GT63 S and optional on the normal GT63.

Based on last year's concept of the same name, the new, more practical offering will sit alongside the Mercedes-AMG GT two-door. Three versions of the four-door will be available, headlined by the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S, sporting a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine with 470kW of power and a massive 900Nm of torque from 2500rpm, up 200Nm over the Mercedes-AMG GT R two-door.

Mercedes-Benz 's AMG performance car division has lifted the veil on its latest production model: the GT 4-door Coupe.
The GT 4-door Coupe follows the SLS Coupe and Roadster and the GT Coupe and Roadster as the fifth dedicated model from Mercedes-AMG.
The other is AMG's 4.0-litre V8, which, in line with other AMG models, will be available in two separate states of tune in the GT63 4Matic+ and GT63 S 4Matic+.
The basis for the first ever four-door fastback from AMG is Mercedes-Benz's MRA platform. In the GT53 4Matic+, the new model receives a 48V electrical system. Daimler and Mercedes-Benz have been teasing the 2019 AMG GT 4-Door Coupe (that's the official name by the way) for so long that there was some danger that the mystique about the latest AMG-class car would fizzle. The four-door coupe is a longer version of the AMG GT two-door coupe and comes with a choice of three drivetrains, offering horsepower ratings of 429, 557 and a whopping 630.
The two-door AMG GT Coupe carries an entry-level price tag of $112,400, an AMG GT S Coupe (also two doors) starts at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $132,400, an AMG GT C two-door coupe is priced at $145,000, and an AMT GT R Coupe lists for $157,000.
The AMG GT 63 sports the company's 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine and delivers 577 hp and a top speed of 193 mph. Mercedes estimates acceleration from 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds. The GT 53 is due by mid-2019.
Mercedes-Benz claims that the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe opens up the sports car segment to those looking for a vehicle for day-to-day use, but who are unwilling to go without the unparalleled performance of Mercedes-AMG.

Called the AMG GT 4-Door - not the AMG GT4 like we expected - the new four-door marks a huge point for Mercedes' AMG spin-off.
Mercedes says the GT 4-door will come with several features already seen in the GT. Inside, the new coupe is a picture of AMG GT and CLS, so it features two, 12.3 inch high-resolution displays - standard in the V8 models and optional in the six-cylinder GT 53. AMG adds another bright shining star to its line-up with the four-door version of its GT.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 53 features an AMG-enhanced 429 hp 3.0-liter Inline-6 turbo engine with a new performance-enhancing system dubbed EQ boost. That helps even the base four-door GT hit 60 in just 4.4 seconds, with a 174 mph top speed.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 features a 577 hp 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine developed specifically by AMG. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S bumps that up to 630 hp with the hndcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. All versions of the GT 4-Door get an AMG performance-modified version of Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel-drive, here biased to the rear wheels. V-8 models also feature active rear-wheel steering.
As with the two-door GT the new 4-Door Coupe relies heavily on aerodynamics to improve both performance and fuel efficiency. The GT 4-Door coupe will go up against such competitors as the Porsche Panamera.

If you need a bit more performance, there is the AMG GT 63, which is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. In all models, power is sent to all four wheels (4MATIC+) using an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 9-speed transmission. If you're familiar with the AMG GT 2-Door, then you'll recognize the overall profile of the 4-door variant. Although pricing hasn't been unveiled at this time, the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will be on sales starting in early 2019.

The first 4-door to be built ground-up in Affalterbach under the Mercedes-AMG badge is out and it is called the AMG GT 4-door Coupe. We already have the Mercedes AMG GT Coupe and it is a two-door and also gets the GT4 version which might be the reason why Mercedes refrained from calling the GT 4-door a GT4.
The AMG GT 4-door Coupe will get two engine options mated to the nine-speed automatic gearbox which transfers power to all four wheels. A range of three variants was announced, including an entry-level six-cylinder GT53 and two V8 versions, called the GT63 and GT63 S. The fiercest AMG two-door, the GTR, makes 430kW and 700Nm, which the new AMG GT63 (minus the S) matches. The GT53 produces 320kW and 520Nm from AMG's new 3.0-litre inline six.
All models feature an AMG-calibrated nine-speed automatic transmission (rather than the two-door GT's transaxle) and fully variable 4Matic+ all-wheel drive that can send up to 100 percent of torque to the rear wheels. A rear-wheel steering set-up has also been integrated for the GT 4-door using hardware from the AMG GT R.
The new AMG GT 4-door Coupe combines the impressive racetrack dynamism of our two-door sports cars with a high level of day-to-day suitability, and will attract new customers to Mercedes-AMG, AMG chairman Tobias Moers said.
Though AMG refers to the new model range as the GT 4-door Coupe, a typical letter and number designation was chosen for each variant to avoid overlap with the GT coupes (GT, GT S, GT C and GT R) without having to include 4-door' in the name of the new fastback sedans.

motor 2nd: Mercedes-Benz has been testing the AMG GT Sedan for several months now. The all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupe has been revealed, with the performance-oriented rival to the Porsche Panamera carving its own niche in the realm of 4-door AMG models.
Set to slot between the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S and Mercedes-AMG S 63 models , the new 4-door version of the GT sports car is no limousine like its sibling sedan models: In fact, Mercedes claims the new model combines the impressive racetrack dynamism of our 2-door sports cars with a high level of day-to-day suitability.
Mercedes-AMG claims the GT 63 S model will sprint from zero to 62 mph in a Porsche Panamera Turbo -smashing 3.2 seconds, on its way to a 196-mph top speed. The performance on offer is the more impressive considering the AMG GT 63 S model weighs in at 4,674 pounds (curb weight).
Full specifications and pricing will be announced for the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupe closer to its local launch.

One year on from the styling exercise known as the Mercedes-AMG GT concept , here we have the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. engineers in Affalterbach, AMG wants us to view this as a four-door version of the two-door AMG GT that, in one of its three guises, everyone seems to adore.

To more important matters, the AMG GT 4-Door will come in three potencies: the 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 AMG GT 63 S with 630 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, the AMG GT 63 with the same engine detuned to 577 hp and 533 lb-ft, and a 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline six-cylinder AMG GT 53 with 429 hp and 384 lb-ft, aided by an EQ Boost electric motor. Both models use the AMG MCT nine-speed with a wet clutch, AMG's dynamic air ride suspension, and rear-wheel steering.
Front seating options range from diamond-quilted comfort to AMG sport buckets. The AMG GT 63 S and GT 63 go on sale in early 2019, the GT 53 follows soon after in mid-2019.

Mercedes-AMG has revealed the performance brand's first-ever unique sedan, the GT 4-Door. The AMG GT 4-Door is paying homage to its other GT-badged siblings from AMG with a similar front clip design and take on Mercedes' Sensual Purity design language. The AMG GT 4-Door is the indirect replacement for the former AMG-ized CLS 63 as AMG attempts to differentiate itself a little further from the core Mercedes-Benz lineup.
Also like the GT Coupe, the GT 4-Door is offering up two of Mercedes-AMG's hallmark V-8 engine offerings. Unlike the two-door brothers, the GT 4-Door is also going to offer AMG's new electrified powertrain in the form of a GT 53. All variations of the GT 4-Door powertrains will be mated to AMG's 4MATIC all-wheel drive system that it torque-biased to the rear wheels and offers a Drift Mode that makes the system effectively rear-wheel drive. - Today at the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the latest in its AMG line , the AMG GT 4-Door Coupeand yes, that's the full actual name. The first four-door AMG GT will come in three versions. The base car is the GT 53. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 has a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that makes 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. All three use an AMG Speedshift nine-speed automatic and have AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive. Mercedes calls the AMG GT 4-Door racetrack ready, with handling like the GT coupe. The V8 models use AMG Ride Control+ air suspension. V8 versions of the GT 4-Door have active rear steering standard. The AMG GT 4-Door Coupe goes on sale this summer.

Mercedes-Benz broke the cone of silence on the AMG GT Four-Door Coupe (known as a sedan outside Germany) at the Geneva auto show on Tuesday. Top speed is 174 mph for the six, 193 mph for the GT63 and 195 for the GT63 S. Mercedes is calling this its first four-door sports car. All AMG GT four-doors get adaptive damping. Mercedes adds that the electronically controlled locking rear differential (standard on GT63 and GT63 S, not available on the GT53) has a new reinforced mount to lower noise, vibration and harshness. Like the E63 AMG, the GT four-door gets a drift mode where all the power is sent rearward. The GT63 gets red clampers, the GT63 S gets yellow. The first AMG GT four-doors come in early 2019; the I6-powered GT53 comes later next year.

For the first time, we transferred the AMG design DNA to a four-door model, says Mercedes-AMG chief designer Volker Hellwig, proudly pointing at an early concept. Three variants of the four-door AMG GT will be offered at launch, all equipped with the nine-speed Speedshift multi-clutch automatic, starting with the six-cylinder GT 53.
