We've already been treated with a preview of the design in the form of the A Sedan concept Specifically, the concept previewed a new A-Class sedan that's also out testing, but its front section closely resembles the design used on the A-Class hatch.

The new A-Class hatch will be the first model to ride on the next-generation version of the current MFA (Modular Front-drive Architecture) platform used in compact cars from Mercedes.

Mercedes-Benz had last year revealed the interiors of the 2018 A-Class, highlighting the fact the new smallest car from the German brand will carry features borrowed from bigger ones like the S-Class.

"Below is a list of the currently available new MERCEDES-BENZ A-Class models showing the car tax band, car tax payable, NGC Rating, and CO2 emissions.

The 'First year rate' is the amount paid when buying a new MERCEDES-BENZ A-Class; the 'Standard rate' is the ongoing annual car tax payable.

MERCEDES-BENZ A-Class car tax - or Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) - is based on bands that relate to the model's official CO2 emissions, and purchase price.
